Long term goals of the festival:

To increase the 20/21th century guitar repertoire so that ample new works will continue to be available and to encourage young composers (and not only) to write works for guitar through the commissioning of new works.

To offer performance opportunities and assist the careers of young players and composers through concerts and the Guitar Competition (some of our participants and past winners of the competition are having already careers in the field).

To offer a forum for people interested in current information and methodology pertaining to guitar pedagogy.

The above goals will help propel the guitar into to twenty-first century by eliciting a high level of interest in the guitar and, at the same time, making the guitar more accessible to performers, composers and audiences.
